Let’s face it those of us
that parent toddlers or little ones need to ease our stress and
tension at times as we strive to understand our wee ones. As fun
and cute as they can be we need to remember some fundamental basics
as we energetically strive to propel them into our world. For
example how many of us get agitated when our little ones fail to be
quiet for a church service or can’t sit still while we visit with a
friend?
It’s because they have a
limited attention span. It’s unreasonable for us to expect
something out of them that they aren’t capable of giving. And
yanking on their little arms won’t get their chubby little legs and
feet walking any quicker. In our quest to get as much accomplished
as little time as possible, well can be hard on our precious kids,
life will take more time and we will go at a slower pace for awhile
that’s ok because there is a world that our children will joyfully
help us rediscover.
So remember even though
your toddler can seem incredibly grown up and mature at times they
are still just a smidgen past being a baby. Give them time to
adjust to new situations, handle them with gentleness and don’t get
embarrassed if they act up. Face it, every woman who has ever been
a mom has been in your position and understands. Totally and
completely enjoy these days with your toddler. In an instant it
will be gone way too soon. I’m Dionna Sanchez founder of Emphasis
