Hello this is Jennifer from http://www.ilovebeingamom.com.  I wanted to address a question this week that I received.  The mom was due in two months and she had another little girl also and she was like how do you do it?  How did you do it those first six weeks with meals to cook for your family?

As soon as you have the baby you are tired, you are going to be up at night breast feeding or formula feeding whichever you do, and it just really takes a toll on you those first six weeks if you don’t have any help. I didn’t really have that much help so what I did was my neighbor was really big into freezer meals so she had a little shower for me right before my youngest was born.

What the shower was was instead of bringing normal baby items for a baby shower it was a food baby shower.  Each guest that came would make a meal that could be frozen up to three months per say.  Each day when I had my youngest little girl I would take one of those freezer meals out, pop it in the oven and I had a meal by super each evening for my family and they didn’t have starve or have my husband try to cook a meal that wouldn’t probably get done because he’s not a cooker.

I just wanted to give that to you as an example because it’s a wonderful way to help the moms those first six weeks to not be so busy and have to worry about all of my family being fed oh I’m gonna have to get up and get super.  Definitely do that for your family.

If you don’t want to really have a baby shower then just pass the word out to your family, your friends, your husband’s side of the family, your church family, if they ask what is one thing I can help you do then by all means say if you could cook me one meal say Lasagna, Spaghetti things that are good freezer meals and you can do a search on the internet for freezer meals and you will get a lot of recipes, good things that will freeze well.

I just wanted to address that question because it was a very good question and something that all moms should have help with those first six weeks.  That’s a wrap for this session and I thank you and hug those baby’s tight.
